DNF
Occasionally I become distracted by the need to make a living, which was the story today, and so the planned post DNF. But, today's training as follows:
Mon. 1/1/07 light work. looses two front shoes. Refuses movement under tack.
Tues. 1/2/97: rest
Wed. 1/3/07: the sun and stars in this business rarely align, but today was such a day. Only good news. Nob reported after he checked that in fact we lost only one shoe Monday. Nob trimmed the hoof and tacked on a #5 level grip without equilox and he said it would stay on, which is big news. It was nippy and windy. Perfect timing also for a fast pasture romp. The horses raced each other for about ten minutes. Art made a couple of nice bursts--looks good, now, if he'd grow. Then there was a hilarious horse-deer confrontation. The deer won. The horses came storming out of the trees with 13 deer transfixed in front of them, screeched to a halt as the herds eyeballed each other, and then being severly outnumbered, turned and fled. We needed a camcorder for that one. Pea hearts and pea brains.
