Developments

Here is the Accuweather radar of the moment, and I'm shocked to see thunderstorms right over Wichita-Eureka, Kansas. Obviously the weather gods know we are planning a Sunday trip, and so, needless to say, the forecast for Eureka is for daily thunderstorms through Sunday virtually guaranteeing the track will be closed. The good news, after that it's two weeks of sun, and so, we should be able to adjust.

And, in our own neck of the woods, as I am in my bed last night "dreaming" about tonight's planned farm breezes, of course, at 3 a..m. suddenly unannounced (and unforcast) thunder and lightening. Two inches of water in the buckets this morning and everything again is a mess. But, the sun is out. We should have farm breezes on Saturday.

Also shown an old pic. (left click to enlarge)of Mr. Nob leading in the horse of the moment Acesmash, our six year old non-starter to the saddling area. Ace absolutely must break his maiden at the Kansas Fair meets by July 20. So, we're on a real rush job with him. Notice Nob's light clothing (ala what Larry Jones wears with Hard Spun. Nob in the pic as now is 15 lbs. over, but, we're working on it.

So, life and training goes on even with the weather, as I'm trying to compose my posts on warming up which should soon be finished. Nice training last night. We missed really only one day in May.

Today's training:
5/29/07 Tues. Day 1 Burch: Off
5/30/07 Wed. Off, weather.
5/31/07 Thurs. Day 2 Burch: 4 x 3f riderless gallop at snappy pace about 16sec/f. After two days off the horse was full of himself, but, make this light and save a little for Day 3 Friday. 6 min. walk under tack.
